The Order of AHEPA started in 1922 in Atlanta, GA. The primary
reason for this was that the Greek American immigrant needed
to have an organization to bring the ethnic group together, but
more importantly, the immigrants themselves needed to
become Americans; the AHEPA fulfilled this need. With many
years of immigrants before them, these Greeks taught
thousands of people the new language, English. With the
advent of WWII the AHEPA had come into their own. With U.S.
War Bond sales over $500,000,000 by 1944, the Greeks in the
United States had elevated their stature to one of honor and
privilege.
Power District #4 currently is the state of Pennsylvania. It is one
of 26 Gubernatorial district in the AHEPA family.
